Executive Incentive Compensation Amidst Change: Challenges, Considerations and Communications
This presentation will consider how public, private and nonprofit organizations can maintain effective executive pay for performance amidst shifts in competitive, economic and regulatory environments. Design considerations are critical when establishing a successful executive incentive plan; selection of the performance metrics, target levels of achievement and participants are among the important but problematic tasks. Organizations should review the competitive market to ensure overall compensation levels are competitive and reasonable. Essential to any compensation arrangement, the executive incentive plan is only as effective as the communication about the plan. The organization must educate the relevant executives within the organization as well as the other stakeholders.
